Indiana Jones by artsytarts Indiana Jones by artsytarts
Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, in all his glory!
I believe this picture is from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Not sure though.

This happened partly because I really need to practise my portrait drawing + colouring and partly for fun. :)
But mostly because I don't know how to draw faces properly. Or hats. Or how to do proper colours.
So it was a great exercise

I don't know how long this took in hours, but I worked on this for five evenings, on and off. I'm so happy how it turned out :)
And it's only the second portrait I ever did of Mr Ford, so I'm even more happy about it.

Drew the sketch on paper first and coloured it in Photoshop and then slapped a filter over it, cause I felt it still needed something.

Here's the reference picture: images2.fanpop.com/images/phot…

Comments are muchly appreciated! :D

And now I need some sleep.

zzzz...

I think the eyes are too big, that makes him looks young.

Yeah that could very well be. I tend to draw eyes too big.

I think you succeeded pretty well in this^^ Althought it very realisticly drawn, I still can see your personal touch trough it, which is weird, because just now I see it's a digital painting :o It really looks like a traditional one at the first sight! You tricked my brains! :p

Aww thank you so much!
You think my style shines through? Hmm... Now you say it, I think you're right XD I never looked at it that way!
Yeah photoshop is pretty amazing in that way. If you use the right brushes, you can almost simulate paint on canvas.

Yeah, indeed.... It really keeps stunning me everytime I see it :XD:
If you're ever planning to make an 'making of vid', let me know, I'd sure be intrested to see how you can build up something like this from an (almost) blank page!

Awww thank you!
Yeah, I've been thinking about that. I really need to get a video software that can film the desktop. I'd love to do that.

Okay, thanks! I'll have a look for it.
Next time I do a digital painting, I'll probably film the process.
