Shenanigans ~ Public by artsytarts Shenanigans ~ Public by artsytarts
You wouldn't believe the looks I get when I read a comic on the train. I get everything from curiosity to discomfort and outright disgust. It's hilarious.

Lol! You really wore a fly mask on the train? :XD: Their looks absolutely are priceless! I love the way you draw them! :D

lol, no XD But I might aswell have. Okay, it's a bit exaggerated but you do get these sort of looks when you're just reading comics on a train. Or knitting for that matter. If it's anything else than listening to music, reading newspapers or fiddling around with your phone, it's weird. XD

Poor you... :XD: I'd feel really self conscious if people were giving me funny looks like that. I just don't get what's so weird about it.

I'm way past feeling self-conscious. XD It's very entertaining to watch them if they think you're not looking.

Really!? I wouldn't have expected people to react like that. I had fun last time I went to Europe by watching everyone in the trains. I was funny cos' everyone else was performing studied nonchalance on the existence of everyone else (sorry, is that even a proper sentence?)

Well, in Switzerland people can be a bit repressed. XD They like routine. But it's fun to watch them. When you're doing anything else but listening to music, reading newspapers or fiddling around with a phone, it's weird to people. A girl reading comics on her way to work in the morning is a preciously rare sight, so I get these sort of looks all the time. XD (Yeah it makes total sense. I do that too, all the time. It's just fun to watch people.)

Dude! I've got to try this!
I don't have a lot of comics but I have a few and I enjoy them....especially the Star Trek ones.
I think comics as an art medium are far underrated. I'm glad that graphic novels are becoming more popular.....although I have a hard time finding ones that have stories l like.

Oh, I am such a sucker for comics :D I even enjoy the crappy stories. Especially when it's Marvel. Some of them are so spectacularly bad they're almost comedies, then there are the okay ones and sometimes, you get a real jewel of a story.
Yeah so am I! I'm a big fan of US comics (mainly Marvel, DarkHorse and Vertigo), but also French and Belgian graphic novels (especially because of the funny and up-beat stories and amazing artwork). Some of the best storylines I've come across are Blacksad, Bourbon street, The Arrival and The Last Man. All very enjoyable.

Yes, exactly!! LOL! I'd do it too.

Ha ha. What I meant was it's hard to find stories that aren't all about people killing each other, the undead, or the supernatural. I don't mind cheezy writing. In fact old B monster movies are some of my favorites.
