So as you guys probably know, I'm a bit of a movie buff and when I heard that Hugh Jackman was coming to the Zürich Film Festival for his Golden Icon Award, I just couldn't pass up the chance to try and get tickets. I was lucky and managed to get hold of four, which allowed three friends and me to go along to the award ceremony. With the premiere of the new movie Prisoners afterwards.
The big event was yesterday and I am really thrilled I got to be there
Hugh Jackman is an absulute entertainer, and not just on camera. He recieved the Golden Icon Award at the Zürich Film Festival for his past work. And I think we all agree that he deserves it. He acts on stage as well on camera, he can sing, he can dance, he's an entertainer as much as he is an artist. He cracks every role, no matter if it's a comedic, action or drama part. And he seems like an extremely humble and nice person. When he walked across the green carpet (yes, we have a green
carpet XD) he turned around at the end, ran back and gave all the fans who were standing there high-fives.
The ceremony wasn't long, but it was fun and interesting. He came on and first of all said hello in German and pretty good German too
. Then he thanked a bunch of other people (as it's supposed to be when recieving an award) and went on to thank Switzerland for his very existance, cause his parents met in a resort in Interlaken.
(There's a little video here: www.20min.ch/people/internatio…
After that, Kira Davis (producer), Denis Villeneuve (director) and Melissa Leo (actress) joined Hugh Jackman on stage to talk about the movie a bit. Not gonna tell you much about this, in case you want to go watch it. Cause Spoilers... Except maybe Melissa Leo's prosthetic bum XD. As Hugh Jackman said after that, the whole cinema would probably just look out for the prosthetic bum while watching the movie and nothing else.
No seriously: joking aside, Prisoners is a heavy movie. They showed it right after the award ceremony and it was like a shock. You have a light-hearted and funny ceremony and afterwards: Boom! Let's have a really depressing thriller! I gotta say though, the script was absulutely amazing. The tone of the whole thing was perfect, the performances were spot-on. And I mean perfect. From all actors. It's a difficult and emotionally challenging film to watch and it really makes you think after you've seen it. And the performances really push the movie along. And then you had a setting in a small town that was permanently foggy… Perfect recipe. It's an amazing movie. I can really recommend it.
So yeah... all in all, I really enjoyed myself and I was thrilled I got to see that. I never was at an event like that in my life, so it was something very interesting and new. And a little scary. And a little unreal. And loads of fun.
Next stop at the Zürich Film Festival: Harrison Ford's visit to Zürich for his Lifetime-Achievement-Award. They're gonna show Raiders of the Lost Ark. I'm really excited!

I don't do fanart comissions. Because if I'd charge money for, say, a Hulk picture, I'd violate the copyright laws. Cause I would make a profit with someone else's stuff without their permission (in that case it would be Marvel's stuff). And that's illegal.
